Analytics are optional.
Sixth Wall Society uses Google Analytics only when you choose “Accept analytics.” If you decline, the Google Analytics script is not loaded and analytics cookies are not placed on your device.
What is collected
A view of the wall, not of you.
When analytics are accepted, we receive aggregated information such as pages and stories viewed, approximate location, referring website, and general browser or device information. We do not use advertising features, personalised advertising or a user ID, and we do not ask Google Analytics to collect names or email addresses.
Why
To understand what gets read.
Analytics help us see which stories find readers, how people discover the collection and whether the site works well across different devices. The legal basis for this optional processing is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Your choice
Change your mind whenever you like.
Use “Privacy choices” in the footer to accept, decline or change your analytics preference. Withdrawing consent stops future analytics collection and removes Sixth Wall Society’s Google Analytics cookies from this browser where possible.
Story submissions
What you send stays editorial.
When you submit a story, we collect the information you put in the form: your name or byline, email address, story and word count, and any optional biography, link, publication history, notes or suggested image you provide. We use it only to receive, review and respond to your submission and, if it is accepted, to prepare and administer publication. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in operating an editorial submissions process and, where relevant, taking steps at your request towards publication.
Submission services
Where the form goes.
Cloudflare provides the automated human check and site infrastructure. Notion stores the submission record and uploaded files for editorial review. These providers process information on our behalf under their own security and data-protection arrangements. We do not sell submission data or use it for advertising.
How long
Not forever, just in case.
Submission information is kept only while it is reasonably needed to review the work, correspond with you, administer a publication or deal with a related query. We periodically review submission records and delete material that is no longer needed. You may ask us to delete your submission or other personal information by using the contact address below, subject to any information we genuinely need to retain for an accepted publication or legal obligation.
Who processes the data?
Google provides the analytics service and may process analytics data on our behalf. You can read Google’s privacy policy and information about safeguarding Analytics data.
