Flash fiction is a complete story told in a small number of words. It can be read quickly, but it still has characters, atmosphere and an ending that stays with you.

03How do I read the stories?

Start anywhere. Choose a title or photograph from the story collection, then follow the links at the end of each story if you want to continue reading.

04Are the stories free to read?

Yes. Every story on Sixth Wall Society is free to read online. You do not need an account or subscription.

05Do the stories connect?

Some stories share characters, places, memories and recurring details. Each story also works on its own, so you can read the collection in any order.

06How long does each story take to read?

Most stories take between two and ten minutes to read. The reading time is shown beside every title in the collection and on each story page.

07What kinds of stories are published here?

The collection includes literary fiction, flash fiction and short stories about relationships, grief, memory, cities, coastlines and ordinary lives becoming unfamiliar.

08Is new work added regularly?

Yes. We aim to publish at least one new story every week, with new photography and other work added along the way.

09Can I read Sixth Wall Society on my phone?

Yes. The website is designed for phones, tablets and computers. The story pages use a clear reading column and the image collection adapts to smaller screens.

Yes. Every story has its own link, so you can send it directly to a friend or share it online. Please do not copy or republish the full text without permission.

Submissions are coming. We are working on a clear way for writers to send work for consideration, and the details will be published here when submissions open.
